Street Sweeper Social Club opened
This is Tom Morello's (Rage Against the Machine,Audioslave) new collaboration with Boots Riley. They were really fun to see live! I know their set had: "The Oath" "Fight!Smash!Win!" "Paper Planes"

The concert itself was probably one of the best experiences I have ever been to. There wasn't long wait times between sets or things like that. We had Jane's Addiction presale tickets so we went to this little booth and picked up our tickets. They gave out free Monster Energy Drinks outside, which was cool. I downed mine and Meghan put her's in my car for later; then we entered the formerly known as the Tweeter Center, the Comcast Center.

We stood in line inside the venue until we were allowed to go to our areas. We looked at the merch booth and what not. We decided to buy our stuff after the show. Then we walked down to the pit, as we had GA PIT TIX, and stood a few rows back for Street Sweeper Social Club. ]

Tom Morrelo is a beast on that guitar of his! Holy cow! I've seen him with Rage, but that was at a giant festival in New York City, this was incredible because I was only about 10 feet away from the dude. Their cover of "Paper Planes" and "The Oath" were the highlites for me. During their show a bunch of frat boys all wearing The Nightwatchmen, Morrello's former band, started a mosh pit by themselves. Once SSSC finished their set, I heard one of these turds yell he needed more beer, I think that's the last thing he needs.

The set change from SSSC to Nine Inch Nails was faster than I ever could have imagined. It was only about fifteen miniutes. We were in probably the fourth to sixth row before the railing. Their set had lights and smoke everywhere. Then they came out and performed their songs, I didn't know "Home", but it was great, then the rocked out with the opener from 2008's "The Slip". Their set had a lot of rarities and hits; it was a really cool blend. They were completely on top of their game that night. I saw them before at the Orpheum in Boston and their show was sort of boring, not the case in Mansfield! Hightlite of the show was Trent Reznor's speech before "La Mar" about writing the song in a place where he was going to kill himself and now he is getting married there.

The co-headliner, Jane's Addiction opened with a video clip of a kid saying he wish he could have seen Jane's Addcition before they broke up. I couldn't agree more, except I was only like two or three years old in 1991. Their performance was very good. Frontman Perry Farrel, 50, pranced through several hits. This was their first tour since Eric Avery has rejoined the band. I hope it won't be the last. He is a bass-master. During "Pigs in Zen", someone through a piece of paper at Perry Farrel's head and hit him. Farrell then scouted the individual out and told him to back up and leave, in more words. This made the show more intense throughout the evening. Farrel's voice isn't what it was twenty years ago, when they recorded many of the songs they played. They didn't play anything off of Strays, and rightfully so, because Avery was not on that album.

Overall I rate this concert very high- maybe even 10/10. It was truly that good. It ranks with the time I saw Primus in Maine..

"Excuse Me, But this May Sound a Bit Bizarre.." /"Watchmen" Review

Man I should/will update this more often...I use Twitter so much more. Haha.

Yesterday, well technically Friday now I went to go see "Watchmen" with Meghan. She was confused by the plotline and had to work early the next morning so we left a little early. I told her I would just download the movie or something. No big deal, I was super tired anyways and the movie wasn't going to get out til around 1am. The next day, or tonight, I had a little bit of time on my hands so I go to the theatre, in typicaly Larry David/George Costanza style and say to the clerk ""Excuse me, but this may sound a bit bizarre, yesterday I was in here seeing Watchmen and left early, may I view the ending of the 8:00 showing? " It was about the same time in as the time I had left so it was perfect.. Surprisingly she was not shocked and told me to go in. I went in and squished myself between some people and watched the end of "Watchmen". I couldn't even believe it worked!

The film was great. Much better than "300", which Zach Synder also directed and I thought was boring. I want to read the "Watchmen" book now. Film has lot's of great metaphors/idealogies..i.e Nixon is president in the '80s. You'll love Rorchache's prison scenes. ("I'm not locked in here with you..Your'e locked in here with me!" Only problem is, as Meghan described and I agree, the non-linear/ non-conventional method of storytelling. Once you get the hang of the story though, it's a great film!
